About Jackie

Jackie Johnson is a freelance hair and makeup artist with over 22 years of experience helping clients feel confident, polished, and authentically beautiful. A native of Chester County, Pennsylvania, Jackie grew up locally and attended West Chester East High School. A self-described tomboy in her early years, her interest in beauty began to take shape during her teenage years, influenced by her mother’s simple but lasting advice: always cleanse and moisturize your face twice a day. That foundation sparked a lifelong appreciation for skincare and beauty, a philosophy that still guides her work today.

Jackie began her professional career in beauty at Nordstrom in 2001, where she trained and worked with prestigious brands including Lancôme, Clinique, Bobbi Brown, Trish McEvoy, and MAC Cosmetics. Early on, she recognized that many women invest in makeup and hair products without ever being shown how to properly use them. This realization fueled her passion for personalized beauty education, as she believes everyone deserves to understand how to enhance their natural beauty.

Following her love of travel and inspired by her sister, a professional pilot, Jackie spent time as a flight attendant before ultimately returning to her true passion in beauty. As she built her career, she began providing wedding makeup artist services on weekends, quickly developing a loyal clientele who appreciated her expertise in hair and makeup services.

Jackie later launched Bella by Jackie, built on the belief that beauty should enhance — not mask — a person’s natural features. Today, she provides exceptional hair and makeup services in West Chester and the greater Philadelphia region.

Eager to deliver a comprehensive beauty experience, Jackie dedicated herself to mastering hair styling through extensive online education and hands-on practice, including styling hair for QVC and her friends. Her dedication has transformed her into a full-service artist, blending technical skill with the approachable, calming presence that clients value on significant occasions.

While Jackie is renowned as a wedding makeup artist known for creating timeless looks for weddings, media, and special events, her true passion lies in offering personalized beauty education. She believes that great beauty begins with healthy skin, starting with the foundation of proper cleansers and moisturizers, and focuses on educating clients so they can confidently recreate polished, natural looks long after their appointment.

In addition to her work as a wedding makeup artist and for special events, Jackie freelances with NBC 10 Philadelphia, NBC Universal, the Philly POPS, and QVC, where she provides exceptional hair and makeup services for on-air talent, celebrities, musicians, politicians, and Broadway performers. Her impressive portfolio includes countless weddings, along with grooming and styling services catered for both women and men.
